About High Meadow Arts

High Meadow Arts is a multi-arts venue where young people and adults of all ages create things of beauty. Community members study drama, singing, modern dance, music composition, visual arts, video production, and media throughout the year, during school, after-school, and over the summer.

A grass roots effort made up of volunteer and paid artists and educators from the towns of Marbletown, Rosendale, Kingston, Woodstock, Kripplebush and New Paltz, NY, our mission is to serve Ulster County, NY's socio-economically diverse community with expansive, potent and vital experiences in the arts.

Enriched free-time

High Meadow Arts Inc. brings our talented young people into the sustenance and fruition of our cultural community. Their innate vision and dynamic energy is a civic resource just waiting to be tapped. By using valuable time after school and summertime days to immerse them in the creation of art with outstanding teaching artists, High Meadow Arts gives children the training, support, and opportunity to dream large for themselves and their community.

Cultivation of future audiences

Connections to the cultural communities of theater, art, music and dance enrich young people's lives. They gain access to social capital and cultivate habits of mind like self-direction, focus, group collaboration and artistry. We envision High Meadow Arts’ programs as a natural component of the cultivation of artistic audiences and industry, bringing young people into the process of conceiving, creating, and supporting the arts of Ulster County, New York.

Self-discovery

High Meadow Arts' programs offer an avenue for children to discover their artistic aptitudes and build within themselves the virtues inherent in a rich artistic process. We work with children in schools, bring outside expertise into young people’s creative process, and provide a bridge for youngsters and youths into the professional and enriching world of the performing and visual arts.
